Every Crisis Contains Opportunity

The world faces two critical challenges:

An energy crisis driving up costs and a waste crisis polluting our environment. What if these problems could solve each other?

$4.5 Trillion

Annual global waste management costs

23%

Energy costs rising in California over 5 years

2.01 Billion

Tons of municipal waste generated annually

Market Opportunity

California and the U.S. face massive biomass challenges:

Supply outpaces demand, creating an untapped resource pool with policy-driven support.

1 Billion

Dry tons/year U.S. biomass potential

11.3 Million

Tons/year CA green waste to landfills

5-15 Million

Dry tons forest biomass removal target

GreenLoop saw these challenges differently. They were the raw materials for a sustainable energy revolution!

Closing the Loop on Energy

Every problem contains the seed of its own solution. We transform environmental challenges into energy opportunities, creating a circular economy that benefits everyone.

Problem #1

Water Contamination

Forever chemicals (PFAS) from industrial waste are poisoning our water supplies, creating a health crisis that affects millions.

Solution #1

Total Purification

Our pyrolysis process operates at temperatures that completely break down PFAS molecules, eliminating forever chemicals permanently.

Problem #2

Landfill Crisis

Landfills are reaching capacity while continuing to emit methane and leach toxins into groundwater.

Solution #2

Zero Waste

We divert 100% of processable waste from landfills, converting it into clean energy and useful byproducts.

Problem #3

Energy Volatility

Energy prices fluctuate wildly based on global events, making budgeting impossible for communities.

Solution #3

Price Stability

Fixed-price, long-term energy contracts protect against market volatility while reducing costs by 35%.

Problem #4

Grid Instability

Aging infrastructure and intermittent renewables create an unreliable grid with frequent outages.

Solution #4

Baseload Power

Our facilities provide consistent, 24/7 baseload renewable energy, strengthening grid resilience.

Our Technology

A revolutionary closed-loop system that transforms waste into clean, baseload renewable energy.

01Feedstock Delivery & Prep

Trucks deliver approximately 480 tons of biomass feedstock per day, five days a week, unloading onto a central tipping floor. Two loaders transfer the material into staging areas, where it is fed into hoppers for processing. The hoppers convey the biomass through a screening system that removes non-convertible materials, ensuring only suitable feedstock continues downstream. The screened biomass then passes through a dryer to achieve a target moisture content of around 15%. GreenLoop earns tipping fees from producers for accepting and processing this waste material.

02Feeding System

The dried biomass is conveyed from the dryer into an adjacent energy facility via a controlled feeding system. Each processing line within the feeding system can handle up to 50 tons of feedstock per day. The system is engineered to prevent smoke, ash, or toxic emissions during introduction into the pyrolysis chamber. Feedstock is continuously processed seven days a week to ensure consistent energy production and reliable power output.

03Pyrolysis Conversion

Biomass enters a sealed pyrolysis chamber, where it is directly heated to approximately 1,600°F in an oxygen-free environment. As the material thermally decomposes, molecular bonds break, separating gases from solids. This process produces a synthetic gas (syngas) and a carbon-rich solid residue known as biochar. The syngas flows into the Thermal Oxidizer for combustion and energy recovery, while the biochar is collected through a hopper for reuse or sale.

04Thermal Oxidizer

The Thermal Oxidizer initially uses natural gas, then transitions to recycled syngas from pyrolysis. Syngas combusts at 2,000°F, with heat recirculated to pyrolysis chambers for self-sufficiency. Once operating conditions stabilize, natural gas is no longer needed. Combustion destroys Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) through controlled temperature, residence time, and mixing. The cleaned gas proceeds to the steam system for power generation.

05Steam Cycle | Electrical Output

Combusted syngas flows into a waste heat boiler, where its heat is transferred to water to generate steam. The steam expands through a turbine connected to generators, producing electrical power. After expansion, the steam condenses back into water and is recirculated by the feedwater pump into the boiler, maintaining a continuous, closed-loop power cycle.

06Emissions Control

All plant emissions are routed to an external emissions control system. The gas produced through the system is free of VOCs and is regulatory compliant with California Air Resources Board (CARB) and U.S. EPA. Carbon is sequestered in biochar and methane is diverted from landfills, creating a carbon-negative impact.
